The Metolius is a beautiful and challenging river found outside of Sisters in central Oregon. The Metolius River is a true spring creek, it originates at Metolius Springs where crystal clear water gushes from the dry ground. It is a tributary of the Deschutes River after flowing through Lake Billy Chinook. It has a lot of recreational areas, campgrounds and fly fishing access for those who want to explore one of Oregon's most beautiful places. The fly fishing can be challenging to even the seasoned angler with difficult wading, fast gradient current, and a diversity of insect hatches throughout the year. Redband, whitefish, brown trout, and bull trout can be found in this river and most of the accessible river is open to fly fishing year round.
